What is ISO 9001:2015 Certification?
In November 2019, CIE Manufacturing was proud to receive ISO 9001:2015 certification for both of our North American facilities. This credential, used by over a million organizations from more than 160 countries, is an important quality assurance check certifying that our operations are efficient, optimized, and deliver results.
First published in 1987, ISO 9001:2015 is a set of standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This agency is an amalgam of the national standards organizations in every participating nation, which include the majority of the nations on Earth.
Several major and minor revisions have been issued over the years, including a comprehensive update in September 2015 that officially renamed the former ISO 9001 standards to ISO 9001:2015. All participating organizations were encouraged to move to the new standards as soon as possible.
ISO 9001:2015 is a process that an organization follows to improve their operations, including rules for documentation of information, what duties management is responsible for, how to manage an organization’s resources, how to design and deliver a top-quality product, and a series of audits ensuring that the organization complies with these standards.
ISO standards are used by many types of organizations, from manufacturing companies to school districts to retail stores. There is no size limitation; organizations from multinational corporations to mom-and-pop local businesses can apply and receive certification if they follow the proper steps.

Our ISO 9001:2015 certification is a seal of quality that assures you, the customer or dealer, that our organization is well-run and delivers the best products possible. Our two North American factories produce durable, reliable chassis meant to last for many thousands of miles of service. To earn our certification, we had to demonstrate that everything from our accounting practices to how we run our factory floor measures up to international standards.
